I am looking at a 1973 mach 1 with Ram air and Q code.
Has a lot of options like A/C, PS, PB, electric windows, AM 8 track, Tack, Gauge package, engine has boss valve covers and intake with the tag on the valve cover, chrome shock braces and chrome breather.
Did these cars come stock like this?
The person that I am buying it from swears that the orginal owner said that was the way he ordered it?

Somebody got bossy under that hood..... No BOSS motors in 1972 or 1973.

What Tag on the intake are you talking about? Numbers off it will help.

If it's the engine ID tag and the date code is 73, then it's not a Boss...


The Q code 73 is a 351 4V..... but not a boss...

I will be getting the car tuesday and will check the tag on the valve cover.
Did they make a Q code mustang with the ram air hood? I know the Q code is for the 351 4V but I read somewhere that only the 2V engines had the ram air.
The hood looks like it is original along with the air breather.
Any idea on the extra chrome?

Yes, RAM-AIR was available on the 71/73 MUST. Q-CODE is the 351CJ.

As stated, the 351 BOSS was 1971 only replaced by the 351HO AND 351CJ in 1972 (351CJ late 1972). 73/74 only the CJ was available (performance wise).
