Does anyone know if you can replace the oil pan on a 93 Ranger 3.0 without raising the engine? It sure has alot of room underthere.

My father in law asked if I can do it for him. He lives quite a distance away and I would love to help, But I want to be prepared.

ANY info is greatly appreciated!

I`m sure you will have to at the very least loosen motor mounts and fan shroud, and remove the oil pump. Most Fords are not that easy to change a pan in. In some cases it`s less painful just to pull the motor out. Example Triton motors. I don`t recall ever changing a pan on a 3.0L Ranger.

The hardest part is removing the oil pump and pickup tube. You only have so much room......
