hey guys, I picked up a 98 V6 beater yesterday, just something to tinker with. The rear end is rasing hell --- I dont want to upgrade it, or make it quicker, I just want it to shut up! Maybe a thicker fluid? How hard is it swap another V6 rear end? -- just the gears?

thanks!

Please define "raising hell". Assuming it is whining or cracking, your best option may be a used rear axle swap. While it's not a huge job to redo the gears (and bearings and seals while in there), unless you're set-up to do it, an axle swap is generally more straightforward for a driveway project.
