I have a pair of good working 3 wire motors from a 63[?]. Pulled one out of my 61 and it is 4 wire. Basically, they look [but for the wires] interchangable. Looking at the schematic, I believe the 4th wire is a ground? I am not an electrician and am not sure. If so, why doesn't my car have that set up? Why do I need a ground anyway? 3 wire, is 1 power, 1 ground up and 1 ground down or is it chassie ground? Can a 3 wire work on a 4 wire system?
After removing my motor, it works UP but not down. Is there anything internal that can make it not go down, or is it just a switch or wire issue?
Thanks yet again,
