I have the oportunity to buy an overhauled 302 for my 68 Mustang, but the guy doesn't know what it came out of. The number on the block is D90E6015E3A7 with a small tag at the bottom of that number with 8FT. Anyone have a book that converts the number to a car or year.

D='70 to '79
9= '79
0= Fairlane & Torino
E= engine group
6015= Basic part # (cylinder block)
E= fifth revision
You got me on the other #'s....Could be a cast date code(3= '73) (A=Jan.) (7=day)

Thanks for the info. I was concerned if it was an 80 or newer because I understand from that point on they experienced some vibration problems with those engines.
