Why are you looking at the motor mounts??? The transmission is bolted securly to the bellhousing, which is pinned and bolted to the rear of the engine.

What do the motor mounts have to do with the crankshaft forward enough to burn up the rear part of the thrust bearing??
Hey dude, until we've found the problem all opinions are welcome.

Didn't mean to start anything. Just that you have to keep all options open, yes. But, then look at what is more pobable so you can "Hopefully" zero in on it.

One more to check. When the transmission is bolted to the bellhousing and bellhousing to the rear of engine. You have dowels on the rear of engine, right?? Also, how much endplay does the transmission have?? Long shot....but the driveshaft isn't bottomed out against the tail shaft and pushing the rotating [inside transmission] assemby forward, is it??

What does the crank look like where it ran against the thrust??

If the block checks OK, the assembled engine trans assemby checks OK in end play specs. Then it could of been the assembler....
