OK, so I have a nice sound '95 351w truck roller block that I am going to use to build a 420 ci stroker for my '64 Fairlane. The oil pan MUST be a front sump only to clear the steering linkage and cross member of this car. I can't seem to find one with the notch for the later style block mounted dip stick that doesn't cost sever hundred dollars. Can I just block the hole in the block off and use an earlier style pan and timing cover with front mounted dip stick? Will all the holes including those for the water pump all line up? Will the end seals for the pan be the same? I want to use a clockwise rotation water pump, V belt driven, and mechanical fuel pump as well.
