Will the dual hump oil pan on my 351 fit in my car? Looks like the 289 pan is just as big on the front, but since the rear is so shallow, its hard to tell if the rear sump of the 351 will clear? Anyone know either way?

what type of oil pan do you have? On a 64 i was told to use my 289's front sump.

Well I have the 289 Pan (Original Motor) thats still on the motor...and I have the pan witch is on the 351W(Front pump, rear sump, dual hump pan)... Can I just swap the 289 pan and pickup tube onto the 351W pump?

No, A dual sump will not work.

Correct me if I'm wrong but a 351W oil pan is totaly different than a 302/289 pan. If your swaping a 351 into your car you will need a Front Sump 351W pan.

The 351 W oil pan is different. But you will need a front sump.

Ok so I will need a 351W Front sump pan, and a pick-up? Am I right? And why wont the dual sump work? Does it hit something I am not accounting for? Sure looks like it could. Has it been tried?

My guess is that it would hit the drag link. Those late double hump oil pans were designed for front steer cars....steering box, arms and tie rod/drag link at the front of the wheels. All Galaxies are rear steer. One of these oil pans would work to install a Ford motor in a Chevy though....
