Mustang II flywheel, bellhousing, block plate, and oil pan are all matched to fit together. The 302 oil pan was smaller at the back to make room for the starter because of the smaller flywheel. Bellhousing, plate, and flywheel will bolt onto the 351. I would try a front sump 351 pan and a small diameter starter. I would try it with the engine out first.

I used a milodon front sump pan on a 351C swap years ago. Had to notch the sump for rack and pinion clearance.
