I am building a 393. Parts I have so far are Dart Pro 1 195cc heads. Victor jr intake. Mahle forged flat top pistons. Lunatic 240/245 .608/.608 110 ICL hydraulic cam Scat 3.850 crank. I am planning on purchasing Howard's link bar roller lifters and Miller 1.6 rocker arms. What walve springs should I consider? Thanks

I bought the cam used and can't find the part number on Lunati website. I sent a question to customer service a few days ago. I have received no reply.

I went with a spring from Competition Products that has 150 on the seat and about 380 open. 1.550 dia single spring and used a ti retainer. 7,000 rpm trouble free. I tossed the box years ago or I'd give you the part number.

I thought I read somewhere that the max seat pressure on the Lunati and Howard's retrofit link bar lifters was 130. I could be wrong though. I am going to look for it.

Hydraulic roller and OEM Ford Racing high rpm lifters. They have a ceramic check ball inside instead of the steel ball. I'm sure the spring has lost some pressure ( common) in the 25,000 miles the engine has seen. I initially ( mistakenly) used the GT40 springs that came on the heads out of the box. On the dyno the engine fell off at just under 6,000 rpm. They were between 92 and 100 from Ford. OK for a flat lifter hydraulic , nothing more. I had to put a chip in the Ford Racing ( MSD) box to limit the rpm to 7,000.

Thanks for the Reply. I was thinking about the link bar lifters but I may go with the m-6500-r302h lifters instead. I can pick up those and the spider and dog bones for around $200. Or I can get Lunati Hydraulic roller link bars for around $350

That is the lifter I used on a '95 lightening block ( factory hydraulic roller to make it easy). Seat pressure doesn't kill them it's the over the nose load that does.

I have to wait a few weeks before I make any more purchases. I have exceeded my limit for Jan-Feb. Trying to keep it around $200 a month so the wife doesn't flip out. I have spent about $560 since 1 Jan. This adds up quickly. Probably be the end of the year before I complete all my parts purchases.

I just picked up a probe 4340 crankshaft that was internally balanced for a 1730 gram Bobweight. If my components go over the 1730 grams, can I have the crank externally balanced? How much can I go over and it won't cost me a fortune to rebalance. As I stand right now.
Pistons 464 grams
Pins 116 grams
Bearing. ???
Rod. Big end ????
Rod Small end. ????
I think I am pretty much limited to Eagle Sir5956p rods for 2 reasons. I have press pin pistons and the weight shouldn't throw me over in my Bobweight. Does anybody know the average big end and small end weight of the eagle 5.956 press fit rod? And the weight of a King bearing for 351?

Thanks

I emailed eagle customer service. I really don't expect an answer.i contacted Lunati twice about valve springs with no reply. Maybe Eagle will surprise me.

Yes, a rep from Eagle did respond. I appreciate that. Also, an employee at Clegg Engine in Utah has been very helpful with different rod weights. Since I am pretty sure my engine is going to be below 500fwhp I am going to use the Eagle 5.956 5140 rods and upgrade the 8740 bolts to ARP2000. Desktop Dyno pits my engine at 506hp/506trq. So, I will hope for 450/450.
