Hi all.
I have a 428 and cruis o matic tranny. It will be in the car next weekend, I hope.
Here is the question:
What lifting points are the best/ strongest for such a heavy combo.
I lifted by the cast iron intake to get it out, but now it has an aluminum intake, which I presume to be not as strong.

So, I was thinking of two choices.
One being the exhaust manifold bolt holes with grade 8 bolts.
Second being, take out 4 intake bolts and use those holes (with grade 8 bolts). But, I don't want to mess up the torque specs and cause a leak.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks!

There will be different opinions on this one! here is mine, use a carb lift plate and put it in. I have pulled my 406 c-6 combo in and out multiple times with 0 problems. use good studs and washers and make sure its snug.

Criss-cross two chains on the accessory mount holes on the heads. Be sure to screw in the bolts at LEAST 1/2" or more.

With a carb plate, ALWAYS use grade 8 bolts.. Don't ask me how I know and the trouble I had extracting the bolt from the intake
I too criss cross two chains from the accessory bolts on the heads now..
