Hello Everyone, I just purchased the car I've been dreaming about since my 16th birthday in 1961. It was advertised as a 3 speed on the column, but there was no clutch pedal. Anyway, it had been converted to an automatic transmission. I finally got a number off the casting (C8ZP-70027-A). The car runs fine, but there are a few issues I don't understand. It can only go forward and backwards, there is a neutral but it's a little tricky to find. It also starts on any gear. It also uses the original manual transmission shifter on the column, down in old first to go forward and somewhere around the neutral position is reverse. There are wires connected to the old linkage at the firewall. Neutral is just a bump up from neutral. Has anyone done this before and is it very common? It is really cool how it works, I just don't understand how it works.
Thank you
