i recently droped in a 351 windsor in my meteor hardtop.the motor is from a 76 granada, the orig timing pointer was located on the pass side, due to installing a waterpump that hides orig timing pointer i put a 289 pointer thats about4 0clock on driverside.then i got a summit ballancer that has 3 sets of timing marks.does anybody know if this will work? thanks pete

I would guess the best thing to do would be to turn the engine to TDC on #1 cylinder and see where the pointer points. You can make a pointer that will point to where ever you want, but you need to know what you're pointing at in order to get useful information.

Find a piston stop to find true TDC. Leave the guessing and "it is close enough" out of the equation.

Yes, my wife bought hers new with a 351W. '75 and '76, but I hear of a few '77s with them. They had 9" rears as well.
