Just purchased a pertronix ignitor II distributor and coil to replace my original dizzy with an ignitor module. Dizzy worn out plus trying to get a better spark. Instructions say to bypass resistor wire and I see it on the wiring diagram just off the switch. Anybody know where? Under dash or hood? The pertronix setup needs 12 volts.

I have used it both ways on my Falcon and both worked well. I simply went red to Pos and Black to Neg on coil with OEM resistor wire and the pertronix worked AMAZING. It's only a magnetic trigger and 6 volts seemed to work it without issue. The COIL you use will LIKELY need 12V resisted, but you MAY direct feed the Pertronix red wire to 12V KEYED wire. Just not the Coil unless it's a coil with a built in resistor.
