Told you i would have other questions.....when hooking up the original taillight harness all wires have connectors and match colored wires. I have this short red wire with eye connector left hanging on both sides?

Why? i would think if ground it would be black?

FE,

There is one at each harness end of the taillight. simply there is a cluster of wires with plugs that go into the harness on the back of the taillight. As stated earlier it has an "eye" connector. not sure what the technical term is. Its the style that you can place a bolt or other fastner through and attach. Not found on previous links, but i did find on this link and i just want confirmation that i'm reading it right and RED is a ground in this circuit. look at this page on the clear left. you can follow 2 red wires coming out of the light and it reads one a ground.

Yes they are both grounds, and they screw into the lip which is closer to lower edge of the trunk seal lip, about 3 inches away from the tail light.
