I bought a new battery tray for my 64 Gal, 390 engine.

Anyone got pics of how the batttery is supposed to be retained?

It's held by the little ear thingy which is molded on the end of the battery down the bottom.
Sorry, don't know the correct term.

If your battery doesn't have that ear, then you need the correct one.

Like Dan said, there is a toe clamp that bolts to the battery tray that clamps onto the lip of the battery at the bottom. In order to have a lip on the bottom of your battery you need to use the stock style group 27F battery. Good luck finding one of those as they are getting harder to find.

This is the only battery that I have found that will fit a stock tray with the lip on the battery: NAPA AUTO PARTS. Besides the $300 reproduction battery. If you find another, please let us know.
