Im thinking about replacing my headliner. (64 galaxie fastback).
Does anybody have first hand info, on this job??
Some cars ya need to remove front and back glass.
Im not going to do this job myself. But if the upholstery guy,
has to remove the glass, this job turns into $1000.00 job!!
I need to hear from a couple been there done that guys......

Thanks!

I have not done it on a 64 Ford, but I have done it several times in the past on a couple of cars. If the glass is setting in a rubber channel and the headliner runs up under it, then the glass should be removed. The rubber channel is then removed and the headliner glued to the metal flange. Then the new rubber channel is installed over the headliner and metal flange and the glass reinstalled. If the glass is the type that glues onto the flange or sits on a bead of rope type sealant, then the glass does not necessarily need to come out, although it is always easier to stretch and clamp the headliner with it out. Just my opinion based on the cars I have done, again not on a 64 Ford.
