Can someone please explain the seam? At first I thought someone put a new panel over the rotted panel but I checked the passenger side and under the driver side and now I'm thinking that seam is stock. Is this correct? I'm also posting a pic of under the car where the panels meet and where there is a little square panel cut out of (not sure what that part is called). Is this little square panel stock also? Thank you in advance for any knowledge you can share.

my car has similar rot where the firewall meets the floor, both sides, good size hole below the accelerator pedal... when i saw all the seams in the flooring i wondered if the entire thing was held together with seam sealant, so yeah i think thats just the way it was put together... i will likely just cut some sheet metal to cover up the rust openings... don;t know what the square plate is for, but mine has the same plate, so it was a factory install...

thank you. glad to hear the floorboards and the cover plate are stock. Did you find any welds? I'm not finding welds yet.

That small square panel is an access panel for routing the front emergency brake cable; it's factory.
