I've got a 1966 Custom parts car (two-door) that I picked up over the weekend that I will be parting out.

The bad: A lot of the sheet metal on the car is no good (this includes the hood, lower rear quarters and some of the frame at the back of the car.) The doors *might* be saved if you had a Custom that you really needed them for (they have some rust/rot in the lower part of the door, but might be saved. I haven't looked at it closely enough.) Fenders look somewhat OK, but I haven't looked at them closely enough, either.

The good: All glass is in good shape, no cracks. I am planning on keeping the front windshield since it will interchange with my '67 Custom, and possibly the door glass, too. Quarter glass will not interchange with my '67 so that is available as well, as is the rear window.

Engine (not that anyone would likely want it) is a 240 CID, with Toploader 3-speed - hasn't been started in many years, although the owner tells me it's been oiled over the years to keep it from seizing.)

The entire interior is there, although the seat covers are rough and not much use. Dash is complete, although the dash pad is rough.

Let me know what you need, I'll take pics and we can go from there. I will ship as needed. Car is located about 30 miles south of Flint, MI.

Hi,

I was just about to post a wanted ad and saw yours. I'm looking for R & L seat belt retractors in blue. Yea I realize that on a rust belt area car, that might be whistling dixie, lol. I have a '64 I wanna 'update' to at least retractors and ditch my existing setup.

Please PM me if interested, thanks! Norm in Minnesota

Blue - are you interested in anything specific?

Yo Keith!!

You still have anything left of that old 66 Custom 500?

I find myself in need of a crankshaft for a 240 6 cylinder.

The description of the car makes it sound like the sister car I have; 66 Custo 500, 240 with a C4, split back front bench seat in blue cracked/split vinyl.

The car is definitely still around; I have a guy interested in the engine assembly but if you want the engine mounts, they're yours. Where are you located?

No, package tray is destroyed and wouldn't work with a fastback, anyway - is there anything else you need? If you have a fastback there aren't many parts on this car you could used because it's still a Custom, but I might be able to help.

Nope, no dome light - much like the one in my '67 Custom, this dome light disintegrated into a hundred pieces when I tried to remove it. If you need one for a Custom, you're gonna have to do what I did: Find an NOS one. The part number you're looking for, at least for my '67, is C5AZ-13783-A. I found it on ebay and it wasn't...cheap. Not terrible, but not $10 cheap. Try putting that part number in over at rearcounter.com - one of the NOS suppliers over there may have one for sale.
