I just pulled the molding to the rear window and most of the clips broke in the process and a few of the tabs for the clips also. I saw Dearborn has two styles of clips for the molding. One looks like the original, the other looks like it clips to the body not the tabs built into the body. Are these clips made for this reason, in case the tabs break off. I also noticed two kinds of clips as I removed the moldings, some were wider than the others. Do I need to buy 2 different kinds of clips? Does anyone have any tips for me on putting the glass back in?

I have nearly a whole Vocabulary on this subject...
As far as the two diffrent widths of the clips, just ignore that.
Buy the one from Dearborn or whoever else sells the one that looks correct.

Like Chooch said, have a glass company install and remoe the back glass, it shouldn't run you more than $50 bucks! Most even come to your house and do it on the premesis for equal to or less than that $50 bucks.

FE
P.S.
The other style clips are for a diffrent type of glass moulding, not to replace the type currently in the car.

careful back there...I pulled the mouldings off the 65, accidentally put a little(I'm talking 1/8"
chip in a corner, pulled mouldings(was planning on just masking/repainting roof), all was fine...went out next day and rear glass had totally shattered...could see how cracks seemed to eminate from the chipped spot radially out, but that tempered glass basically disintegrates once it starts to crack. nothing over 1/4" without a crack...kinda neat how uniformly if pops, but not when youve got to replace it- yikes!

I found clips on ebay- 'floridaautofastener' was guys name, no one else had the type used on 65...be careful with that old glass- it can be hard to find...mine was especially bad as its a 4 door hardtop(small window) and most of the 4 doors seem to have hit the shredders long ago...I'm in Ohio, and found one in Maine(classicford.com had it for just 75 bucks!)
