68 top replacement.....

A while back my buddy picked up a new top....(convertiable top) for his wife's Mustang. Can this be done or are there alot of special tools needed? I have never even really looked close at one. Whats the advice?

THanks,
Chris

Its a VERY tough job to do it right... I would let a pro do it unless you are really good at that kind of stuff. I did one and swore I would never do it again.
Good luck!

Do you have to take any of the frame apart??? If so is the frame bolted together or riveted? I can imagine to get it tight it must be a real PITA. I have taken alot of tops off jsut never was in the habit of putting them back on...oh we are talkin about cars..

HAHA.
I did one with the top off the car and on the floor... and yes, you have to take off one side of teh ribs and stretch it across.
I ended up taking it to a pro adn he did it for cash and some beer...
A real PITA.
