I am helping my boss install 4 whl. discs on his Horse and we need to know: What is the thing in the rear brake line( beside the distribution block) It is cylindrical and I believe it to be the residual check valve, if this is not it , where is it? And is the proportioning valve the adaptor we find in the front brake line where the m/c feeds the
dist. block( it has a restricting orifice)? We want to use his excisting m/c (1 month old) and retain the saftey brake light.

Can anybody tell me where I might look for the above info. My 69 factory service manuals do not cover these parts.

Upon further investigation I have learned for anybody who cares the cylindrical valve in the rear brake line is the proportioning
valve which decreases the back brake pressure . The adaptor on the front brake line is the impulse valve, slowing the return of fluid to the m/c.
