I raised the rear but I have a panhard bar and the axle shifted. How far is too far off center. How do I measure to get a new bar and where? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ideally, you want the panhard bar to be level when the car is loaded w/ 1-2 people. If it isn't level now, a longer panhard bar won't help since the geometry is screwed up. What will happen instead is as the suspension travels, it will push the axle until the bar is level and then start pulling it. What you may want to consider is relocating the panhard bar mounts or convert to a Watts link.

to add to the wonderful advice bassman stated.

The point where you would correct the geometry is the mounting point on the frame. It would need to be lowered to correctly align the axle.

If you put a longer panhard rod in there, When the suspension is bound the axle would shift to the passenger side. Possibly cutting the passenger side tire while driving and that would be BAD.
