I have a stock 70’s 302 automatic in a 68 mustang. It’s a stock cam and automatic tranny. I just wanted to replace the stock 302 heads with GT40P heads. I am aware of the header fitment issue and I have done extensive internet research til my wife thought I was cheating. Keeping a low budget in mind just trying to have an everyday driver. I just have a few questions for the vets out there and any guys that have done the swap. Don’t plan on going over 80 mph and just a little tire squeal is cool for me.

With my current stock 302 setup can I keep the following stock components on the GT40P head configuration?
Note: If not any recommendations.
1) GT40P Stock 1.6rr?
a. Can I simply swap out the 302 rockers on to the GT40P rockers?

2) Will the stock GT40P valve springs work for daily driving? Floating 5000rpm?
a. If not can I simply swap out old valve springs for something similar to alex parts below and keep the stock GT40P 1.6rr?
b. SB FORD, GT40P, E7 DROP IN VALVE SPRING KIT, HYD ROLLER - Alex's Parts Sales
c. Is it simple swapout old valve spring for “alex” spring?

3) Will the Ford 7/16 head bolts for the 302 work with GT40P heads?

4) Will the 302 head gasket work for GT40P?

5) Should I use the GT40P push rods or stock 302 push Rods?
a. Note: Stock 302 cam
b. GT40P rod length: 6.272" 302 rod length: 6.904"
