82 5.0 all stock....replaced timing set..removed all emmisions....engine dies when spark port vacuum from the carb is applied, but dosent when I manually apply vacuum to the advance..there is no leak in the hose from the spark port to the advance and the advance has no leaks..the sweet spot for the engine base time is 22-25 btc..that is where manifold vacuum is the highest and the idle is best...if I set the base timing to 12 deg and rev up with no vacuum advance the centrifugals inside the dist advance it to 22 deg so that is working ok?....im out of ideas.......thanks

check for loose wire ,broken/cracked insulation on wire casing...

when vacuum is applied plate inside distributor moves causing lost connection or wire to shorting out .....
