Found '85 convert, burgandy needs paint, ?76,000 miles, rip in top, rip in driver's seat, wiring burnt, does run, but not well. -
Last of the carb motors, tube headers, Automatic car, small brakes in front.
$1,000 - Worth it ???
I'm thinking it would make the girls more happy in my family. I hate hearing the gears grind and smelling the clutch burning in my car.

I wouldn't mind finding one for a restoration project. Always wanted a convertible...and a FOX Mustang is just the right candidate. Well, second behind a Maverick. But they didn't make convertible Mavericks.

Hmmmm...ideaz

Decided to pass on it after an upclose and personal check. above info was by phone. The kid had filled the crankcase with oil, no known reason. When he turned it over, it was binding against the starter so hard it would not start, just fired and spit back. The burnt wiring was from an oil fire (learned today) where the balancer ring on the drive shaft shot spark up into a place where there was so much oil that it caught on fire. He got it out with a fire extinguisher, but didn't bother to wash it out. Its been a week and the residue is eating away on it. It was a throttle body injection... I would have converted it to carb since the linkages were right for it. Too bad. If you are interested, send me a PM and I'll send you the guys number, located in Guntersville, Al.

as much as I'd love a project like that...I'm gonna have to pass as well.

There's an '86 just up the road from me. Trying to get the guy to come down on the price. I offered him $250 for it (no engine...originally a GT/5 speed) and he won't take less than $300. I'll get it eventually, either that or someone else can buy that POJ for $300.
