No brake pedal and fluid coming from proportioning valve
The rear brake line bypasses the proportioning valve for reason unknown the inlet on the p.valve isnt capped and somehow just started leaking.

This is my sons first car hes had for one day. While checking the brake lights the pedal lost pressure and we heard a pop. Found the rear pin to the valve on the ground. Pushed it back in and now fluid comes from the rear inlet,im not sure if theres a rear outlet at the back that holds the pin (should this b capped in my situation or does this pin just stay somehow) were gonna try to cap the inlet and outlet ,bleed and see what happens. Essentialy we have straight lines to the rear drums. Idk why its modified this way but it was working fine, i think when the pin came out the o ring moved and now its leaking because the front lines are still going thru the p.valve and fluid comes out of the unused inlet, maybe thr previous owner capped off the inlet and it failed,

Turns out the previous owner bypassed the proportioning valve with the rear lines but didnt cap off the old inlet or outlet, we simply capped them off and kept the front lines going thru the valve,bleed the lines.and stops fine the rear is just straight brake lines to drums.
I know my 65 has no proportioning valve
And it seems to work great at any speed

Are you actually asking people if you can goober up your son's brakes?

I was actually asking for advice or info related to the subject...for an affordable fix my son spent everything he had to get this 86 f150 and i was giving him a chance to attempt to understand a fix on his own with the help of others who have an expertise in this area via forums wich is how i sometimes find solutions when theres not much online already about a particular subject thats new to me,but you sir taught another lesson

Doesnt help anyone but the guy saying them, ill b sure and chime in next time you post with a rude comment?
And im not the first person to deal with a bypassed p. Valve. Lots of old school cars were manufactured without it and its pretty common on lifted 4×4s esp with oversized wheels.

Because some guys take out the proportioning valves in vehicles doesn't make it OK. If changes are made that could affect braking balance, then buy an adjustable proportioning valve.

Why is a proportioning valve important? It applies the rear brakes first to help straighten the vehicle, then it provides the correct relative pressure to front and rear to prevent the rear from premature lockup.
