My dad is selling his 1987 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe.
Motor Trend car of the year in both 1987 and 1988
Car and Driver 10 Best list both years also.
Factory 5 speed
He special ordered it from the factory in 1987.
only owner.
Has dual power seats, courtesy lighting group,
Factory premium stereo with EQ and JBL speakers.
Driver controlled suspension.
Prefers premium gas but has a switch for regular fuel.
Interior is in great condition
1000 miles since complete engine and turbo rebuild.
Needs to be tuned by turbo shop.
Needs some details finished.
Had minor accident after after a major restoration / overhaul, needs passenger quarter panel fixed..
Top speed over 145 when new.
30 mpg with cruise set at 75 when properly tuned.

Think I would get the quarter fixed and get the tune.

Looks like a great car other then that.
I think it would do 150 or more since the .030 bore on the block and new pistons and the rebuild on the turbo. The interior is amazing.

When he picked it up new at the port of Charleston S.C. from the Ford Distribution terminal, he filled it up with gas and drove all the way to Indianapolis (750 miles) on 1 tank of gas cruising at 75-80 most of the way.

I love my Dad, but when I say it needs to be tuned, turbo guys know what I mean, my Dad says" it has new plugs and the timing is set, the computer does the rest." it makes me a little nuts.
