My girlfriend has an 88 T-Bird. She ran it a little hot yesterday, so today, I flushed it really good, and drained really good between flushes by dropping the lower radiator hose. I also put a new t-stat with a 1/8th hole drilled in the outer edge at the top to stop cavitation in the top of the intake as well as a new cap. I filled it, tested good, runs perfectly fine when warmed up, temp is good, but when driving I can hear water splashing and cavitating in the heater core. Do I have a stuck heater valve or is there a way to bleed air out of the heater core? Thank's

Is the overflow properly filled?

Yes, and the radiator and overflow maintains the correct level through heat up and cool down cycles. I'm wondering if the heater core is plugged and little to no water is circulating. If so then water could be trapped with air and splashing back and forth with vehicle motion.
