Hello There,

I have a 89 Mustang (first ford owned) GT 5.0 and have run into a problem. I started getting this real hard spuddering/jerking at around 2500 rpm. There is no smog pump. It's been replaced with an eliminator. I took it to the Ford guys, and they told me to put the smog pump back on and the problem will stop.

But the car has been without one for 2 years and I have never had this problem. Could it be the o2 sensors? Any input would be great.

Thanks,
Criket

A friend of mine had a 5.0 that did something like that. It was the throttle position sensor.
