Howdy All -

I'm new to this site, so this is my first post. *We moved to Columbus and my car has been in storage, and it's time to blow out the dust and get to work. I have a 68 Galaxie 500 Fastback with a built 460 and C6 trans (appx 325 - 350 HP). I am looking to replace the third member, which appears to be a 9 3/8 rear end. This is primarily a street runner, but I'm looking for something that will hold up to the torque but not break the bank. Any recommendations on remanufacturer sellers, and also what gear ratio would you go with in such a heavy beast?

Thanks,
Ben

You can replace it with a 9 inch 31 splne..the pumpkin will bolt right in...3:50 would be my choice...Go to the next swap meet and you should find a few there.

I used a low mileage late 70s truck 9" third Tru-Trac with 3:70 gears, works good for my heavy 67 Galaxie. Will be a lot better once I get the TKO-600.

Pretty easy to find a Tru-Trac for cheap.
