About a year or so ago I went up to the Ford dealer in Cheboygan,Michigan to get my trusty 90 F150 looked at. While I was waiting what I thought was just another 64-65 Mustang convertible came rolling in on a rollback. While I was eyeballing it the driver came out and said "Guess what your looking at". He had a stupid grin on his face and I said "what". He says thats the first Mustang that was ever built. So now theres two of us with a stupid looking grin on our face. Said the guy had 17 other Stangs in his collection. The owner finally shows up and I started talking to him, he was in his 80's and was some sort of department head for Ford back in the 50's and 60's. He also held all the patents for Ford early brake systems. The car sits in his garage, doesn't take it to shows' justs seems to enjoy owning the thing. He also said that lee Ioccoca put the first 500 miles on it. Wouldn't say how he came to own it, but said he had all the documentation on the car. This was one amazing afternoon, guess you never know whats coming around the corner.

I think he just enjoys them himself. I only talked to the guy for about an hour. He said he doesn't like to take it to shows because he doesn't like all the attention. To bad eh.

This was a red convertible. It had a 260V-8\automatic on the floor. Also had two spotlights on the window posts.
