Until now the ac components in engine compartment are removed in my 63.5. The big chrome unit in the middle of the cabin,under the dash, with 2 vents still has to be removed. Maybe someone know what that unit is called

Is it some simple screws to remove and then its off or is it more advanced to remove this unit?

Very simple to remove, just disconnect hoses if you haven't done so already bracket just bolts up under dash, most likely a Select-Aire unit.

Unbolt the box and unscrew the hoses.

The box is partially removed, but I cant get it removed completely, caused by the XL console. It dont seems like the hoses influence the possibility to remove the box, but Im gonna remove the rest hoses tomorrow. Their cut to approximately 10 inches. The long narrow brackets ending in the firewall are removed. At last, the console may has to be removed

I'm too lazy right now to go down to my garage, but isn't there also a drain line under the dash unit?

I still have a complete 64/AC with fender pwr/steering res sitting and gathering dust.

Yes, its a drain line under the box. A short hose enters thru the front surface of the console. This hose is open at the upper end, but may has been connected to the selectairebox earlier.

YES That hose needs to be disconnected...and a couple electrical connectors....
then it should just be matter of pulling ac unit straight back also you may need to have someone helping ,feeding ac hoses thru firewall while you are slideing unit out....

All connections, hoses, electric wires are disconnected. The box hits against the console. But Ill try again today
