Hi everyone and thanks in advance for reading this. I Drive a 2003 Mach 1. I am having an issue with of acceleration sorts. When I accelerate my car kinda lags a bit. I don't know why it does it. I have been told it has something to do with my ignition coils or something similar I was wondering what the best way was to check them. and if anyone has any other ideas.
This fits better in the 96-04 section vs. the 2011 section...
Anyway, have you noticed any other symptoms (mis-fire, bad vibrations, odd idle, etc.)? As Kultulz says, a scan tool helps narrow things down quite a bit. My best guess though would be plugs (mine died well before 100k so if you got some miles on yours, this is a good start), bad O2 sensor (if you replace it, get Motorcraft only as Ford plays some games with them), or a dirty MAF (especially if you have a K&N filter). Less likely but also possible are a bad FPR, coil(s), sticky EGR valve or a bad DPFE sensor. A vacuum look could also be very possible. As you can see, a scan tool can help narrow things down a bit.
The legal driving age has been a constant debate and every few years another log is thrown onto the fire. Should we really raise the legal age to drive? Would it save lives? If so, how high should we raise it? Currently, most states allow for teen drivers to apply for a drivers permit 6 months...
