How much power can the AWD drivetrain handle? I am looking into using the drivetrain for a project of mine and I am curious to know what they can handle before major mods are required. I would be using the 4.0L OHV V6, but looking into the possibilities of turbocharging the motor.

The vehicle I am thinking about installing the AWD setup is in my 1982 Mazda RX7. Mazda did have 4WD RX7's that they used to rally during the 80's. I will definitely do an engine setback which will require surgery to the firewall. The setback will allow me to lower the engine into the engine bay so that it's not sticking through the hood. I will then have a longer front driveshaft off of the transfer case to the front differential. That is my plan.....will it work? Who knows!

My second option for my RX7 is swapping in a 2.3L turbo motor.

Thanks!

I don't know on power, I've read around 400...who knows. So how are you going about this? Are you using the entire torsion bar set up, cross members etc? I suscribed...curious.
