I have a SBF 205 AFR cylinder head that suffered a blown head gasket between three cylinders requiring some welding repairs. Hopefully, the damage between the three combustion chambers can be seen. Instead of immediately dropping the head off at a “qualified” repair facility (which is a far drive away), I’d like to get a ball park price so as to have most of the funds together before hand. Personal price experiences are kind of what I’m looking for.

Re: AFR 205 head with damage...what to do & what caused it?

I have my thoughts as to what caused this, but I would appreciate any input.

--- UPDATES--- Just got my damaged head back from the certified "AFR" repair people. Good news is that they were able to fix it. Cost for the actual welding and reshaping was $100. But what cost in addition to this repair was a competition valve job and the replacement of the four valves involved with the affected cylinders. It ended up being cheaper to repair than to replace...in this case.
