Need an alternator bracket for a 1971 429/ 460. Not sure how many years they made them. When I put my 460 in my 1965, I used the power steering setup from another 1965. Ford Box and pump. I made the brackets for both the altenator and steering pump. Last year the box blew out the seal (second time). I have aquired a 1971 Torino 429, with saginaw pump and box, but the engine was missing the altenator and bracket. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I might have some left over when I had a 70 torino with a 429,do you need the adjustment bracket or the one that goes from the big bolt to the waterpump. Jeff

To be on the safe side, if you have the adjuster bracker, I'll take that too. I have one, but not sure it is correct.

I haven't looked to thoroughly yet, been buried in a different project lately.

If I can get up the gumption, I can maybe see about this galaxie conv sitting in some backyard waaaayyyyy back into the treeline. I think it was the year you need.

I talked to the wife (spoke no english and was scared of the uniform). I checked out this derilict from the rear flank by going through the woods a bit. The car is sitting on its ass. Ill go by there again when husband is awake, and see if the powertrain is around or in pieces.

IO got just the bracket my friend. Go on ebay and type in 460 alternator bracket. Or email [email protected] I got one for $89.95 and it is awesome. Highest polish stainless steel. Looks great. Also Larry is great to deal with. Shipping was quick even to Canada. Check it out and I hope this helps.

hey madsapper, you try out my suggestion from earlier? Also, I went to the Detroit Autorama and saw alot of cars using the March setup and if your nuts, the Billet Specialties. My suggestion for the ones from ebay are really good and really cheap by comparison.

Thanks for the help all. Found a set of 1970 429 alternator brackets on the bay. Beaded and painted for $70.

Also, fired her up yesterday (55 degrees here) and took her for a rip.
