I'm going to a show in Yelm on the 27th at the Moose lodge, anyone else going? I'm guessing i'll probably see Bill with the white '64 from Tumwater, don't know if he'll be with his car though but he usually stops in on localish shows. I won't be taking the Shotrod this time, already feel guilty but driving another brand to get it out there to be sold sometime or other hopefully. Unless the son is home then he can drive it and i can take the Shotrod.

It's from 9-3 $10 entry.
1117 West Yelm Ave. next to the the High School. Hoping it isn't raining but if it does then the Shotrod will stay home cause i won't feel like puting the top up.:) I'm trying to rush the sunshine!!

They mailed me a flyer for the Moose in Yelm but it isn't impossible that they have a show in Lakewood also the same day. Being a whopping 20 miles apart. Does seem odd that the Mooses don't communicate to each other about shows though so they can get people from each other's shows to attend and get more attendance that way. I didn't know about the Lakewood show. I was at the Wounded Warriors show last year so evidently that's why they sent me a flyer for both shows. Shoot i'd go to the Lakewood show instead. I'll have to ask my buddy, maybe we'll go to that one instead. Same times also as the yelm show?

The timing might have to do with the Nisqually home and garden show going on the same weekend so they thought they might get more people. But still i think it was bad planning to have 2 moose lodges with a show on the same day when the towns are so close to each other. A lot of the people i know around here are going to the High Rollin Hot Rods show at Ocean Shores that day too.

I gave up trying to find info online and called the lakes moose. Same time, same fee, same day. Called my partner's in crime to see if he wants to go to lakewood instead. It's closer even from spanaway. Are you going to the lakewood one?

If i ever head towards the coast for a show it will be the unfinished nationals. Heard it's a good show but then the other one is also from what i've heard.

I guess we must go to different shows Jozy as i don't remember seeing your car before but then again my memory is bout as long as a hair is wide. lol But usually remember the galaxies as there isn't enough of them anywhere cruises or shows. I've been hitting the saturday 6th ave cruise all winter when weather cooperates. Lately the routine is meeting at premium motors on s. tacoma way then going to 6th ave. But of course being winter not many show up unless it's super nice out.

Will let ya know which direction i'm going, yelm or lakewood.

I just bought my car about 6 weeks ago. I've been to Grios on the 1st Saturday of the month and that's it. What is this 6th Ave thing you're talking about?

I haven't made it to the 1st Saturday at Griots yet but been to the Friday night cruise there but only twice.

The 6th ave cruise is yr round weather permitting. It's on 6th ave near the narrows bridge area. In the Kmart parking lot across from Harbor Freight and Les Schwab tires. Usually get there around noonish. Lately they've been meeting at Premium Motors on S. Tacoma Way at the end near Sprague bout 10:30 or 11. 2403 S Tacoma Way, Tacoma, WA 98409
Sometimes there are quite a few cars other times just a few. Usually depending on weather. Sometimes there is an impromptu show with trophys usually, sometimes just plaques. I only entered once. It's next to Sonic also. Bout 3 weeks ago we started at premium, then went to kmart for a while then we all took off to drive through point defiance park and hang out there. There was about 15 or so of us. Mostly chevs that day cept the AMX and me. lol But we don't let them scare us. :)

May 15th i think is the first cruise day for my favorite cruise at the Safeway parking lot in Spanaway wednesdays from bout 4:30/5 til 7 officially or 7:30 but some of us hang out longer if it's real nice. Everyone gets a coupon for a % off pizza at godfathers right there but forgot how much off. I never eat there although i did bring chili and cornbread and did a mini tail gate thing from the trunk of my car. lol

Come on over down or which ever way. Rarely a galaxie or any kind of 60s fords there actually. A Tbird sometimes but definitely no galaxies.

Oh and i need to find out if the cruise is on at sunrise shopping center on meridian this year. A friend of mine was working on getting it going as last year it was canceled. There would be 300 cars there most Saturday afternoons.

July 14th for the Picnic rod and run show. Haven't been but heard it was great so going to try to make it this year.

On July 21st is the Home Depot show in Fircrest. Think it will be their 2nd show. Home Depot just got into the car show biz at most places here last year.

You can download a calendar for the NW shows here(the Oldtimers one is the one a friend picked up somewhere and gave me, it has most of them in it):
Event Calendar - Other Car Clubs :: Maple Valley Street Rats Car Club

Talked to my car partner today after the cruise and we'll be going to the Lakewood moose show instead of yelm, it's closer. So will see ya there. Look for the glowing yellow '57 chev, i'll be next to him in a totally dull yellow by comparison more door dart most likely.

My brother in law has a 67 Camaro and 54 Chevy BA. Friend has a 70 Coronet another friend AC Cobra kit. Cousin has GTO, 57 Chev BA. Gonna try and get em all out. I'm the head Chef at a new Bar and Grill in Lakewood called Bananas. We are in the process of opening. Once we get going, I'll be "living" there. I'll try to make as many local shows as possible. Some time next year, we will have a car show of our own. We are located in the same strip mall area as the Goodwill.

I know where you are then or will be. I don't go to Lakewood as much as i did when i lived on base. I have hit the donut place (huge donuts btw) on gravelly lake and go to the goodwill there now and then so i'll have to check it out.

As i collect fliers I'll let you know. The guy, Keith, that does the cruise on Wednesdays at the Safeway/Godfathers parking lot gets given stacks of fliers for different shows in the area and anyone can just pick the ones up they are interested in in his Packard ambulance. Don't ever remember the year but can't miss it.:)

June 15th the NW galaxie club people or at least a few of them are getting together for lunch at a couple's house on Spanaway Loop and then caravaning to the new car museum if you want to tag along and are free that day. Anyone else that's in the area too with big ol fords. America's Museum i think is the official name. The one by the Tacoma Dome. They rarely have anything going on up in our area and last year i was going to Oregon so missed the one at the Lemay Museum. Far as i know right now there's nothing in my way of going with them on this one.

Below is the info on where we are meeting etc.
June 15 – Saturday – Tacoma, Washington - tour “America’s Car Museum”. But first we’ll head to **** & Jeanette Carman’s nearby home for lunch, then drive to the museum. For members in the area, meet **** at the QFC parking lot (11104 Pacific Ave S in Parkland, Wa) at 11 AM.
From the south: meet at 8:45AM at the Gee Creek Rest Stop (north of Vancouver, I-5 exit9)to Caravan to the meeting location. Please RSVP to [email protected]

The QFC is right at the intersection of 112th and Pacific or that's the way i get in the parking lot. I go to Little Ceasars Pizza there. There is a new Autozone on the corner to the right and on the other side (left) of the road is the Ford dealer with the building with old cars painted on it. I like having landmarks. It's a right turn when coming off of 512 headed south on Pacific.

I still haven't found anything at all about the show in Lakewood. I did call though and they said yes but i'm going to call one more time, tomorrow to make sure. I've been told "yes" before on stuff and one time resulted in my car being towed as the place i called wasn't where i asked about to be sure i was calling the right place. Needless to say my car was towed and then they couldn't remember who they had tow it! Errrr

There are 3 of us from here in Spanaway going if it's not pouring rain. If i find that the 2nd person i talk to says no show then we'll be going to Yelm's show. Even the chamber of commerce doesn't have it listed.

Jozy, how did you find out about it?
