We are now having to license our vehicle based on their weight. Does someone know an approximate weight is on a 62 500XL with 390?

Thanks,
Bobg

The DMV will usuall have a predetermined weight for your vehicle. Or run it accross some Junk Yard or Truck Scales.

What in the Hell is the justification of taxing you on the weight of your car?!?!?! What's next paying income tax by how big your butt is? Damn Tree Huggers...............

The people of Washington passed an initative about 5 years ago setting the license fees of cars at $30. The state has been trying for years to find a way around it. The DMV sent me a letter saying they don't have a weight for the Galaxie and I will need to come up with one either in the owners manual (haven't looked in it yet to see if there's one) or have it weighed. If it weighs less than 4K then it's quite a bit cheaper, but I know it weighs more the than.

Shoot FE you just gave me 25 more HP! Yeah, I thought I was at 300HP factory. The weight range sure is wide though. Must be on the high end if you have a V8.

hehehe... I'm good like that... But, remember that factory HP specs are sans exhaust, air cleaner pulleys, and probably water pumps as well... And, They were Blueprinted and balanced when taking a HP report... I just found that out today...
