More than a C4, less than a top loader 4spd and less power than a C6.

Appx. 50HP right up there with the C-6, C-4 is about 37HP. Lowest is a Powerguide at 25HP. That's from the factory. Rollerized bearings and other mods drop that down fast.

Manual trans loss, 3HP on a bad bearing unit. Usually 0 loss. That's the big advance they have were as the auto multiplies torque thru it.

Well it's physically impossible to have a meshed gearset and bearings have 0 HP loss but it should certainly be low...

MM & FF did a T5 test years ago and it was 18HP at upper rpms... would guess the Toploader is anywhere from 15-25HP loss.

"AOD and FMX share the same size internal components.
Even with the extra gear the drag is slightly higher than an FMX, which is a tad less than a C4. "
