Best of luck in the swap. Aod's can be difficult to setup due to the senitive cable settings. Alittle does a lot!!!

Lot's of postings here and other sites on the conversion.
Check out the search feature...

You'll need a different mount (National Parts & Drivetrain)

Tranny? Buy a good one. 89 and up. Make sure you a console shifter style tranny -- not a column shift.

You'll need the proper TV cable setup and carb bracket.

New cooling lines will have to be bent up.

Nothing hard -- just details.

Make sure you get teh convertor for your flexplate's bolt pattern, 10.5 or 11.4". C-4s are normally 10.5. The AOD will bolt up tothe engine just as the C-4 did. As said earlier TV cable, crossmember and speedometer details. Alon with the cooling lines. DO NOT start the engine up and run the trans until you have the TV cable setup. If you try and drive it, you'll burn the trans up fast. You'll need a pressure gage and the adjustment info. Any trans shop can tell you how's it's done and it's actually very easy.

Doing this on my '69 over the summer. Got the 164t flex plate off ebay, got a good AOD, still gotta get the trans mount and yolk. Like previously stated, pay attention to the details more than anything else. Nice to buy stuff new if you got the cash, but patience can result in up to 75% savings on the cost. Cheers
