Hi all,

Ive just been browsing mustangtek about the 2100 carbs, I have a couple which ive rebuilt and i`m going to fit one to my 289, call me backwards but itll be replacing a 500cfm edelbrock, which is a fine carb, but i want to experiment.

anyway, i was looking at the specs and their intended applications, now, i have a 1.02 and a 1.08, the 1.08 was stock on my C code `68 engine, but the 1.02 appears to have been destined for a lot of full size fords, aswell as some mustangs and falcons, just wondering what fords thinking was here, if it is to give the little 289 a bit more torque down low to get the big fords moving, or if it was for some other reason like emissions?

what are the collective thoughts on this?..

cheers,

Mark

not a lot of carb required for small cubes in non-performance use.

when Ford sold the driver cars , they also didnt have 4.30 gears and big cams- so low rpm and meet Fed. specs were job 1
