Hey y'all, I currently have a 1966 Ford Fairlane with a C4 (I believe) automatic transmission. The only thing I don't like about this car is that it's an automatic transmission. Does anyone have any advice on how I can convert it to a manual (looking for what transmissions can fit and what parts I might need). I'm pretty handy so I believe I can do it myself with the help of a more experienced friend, but I'm still new to working on cars so any help y'all can offer would be greatly appreciated.

lots of column shift setups out there for the clutch parts. Pedal, Z-bar etc. You might have to change the steer mount because depending on Ford, if they used one for both autos and stick trans. Do some research on what crosses over to your vehicle, Stang, Falcon, Comet, etc. You might also look at a hyd clutch system to avoid the Z-bar setup. Ford put 3 and 4 spds in there, even behind a 427. 5 and 6 spds are a game all to themselves.
