Well, I got my Comet on the road again after letting it sit for most of the winter. I sure did miss it!
During that time I rebuilt the motor and transmission mounts in the hopes that I could move the engine down and back so I could get the hood to close. I was successful, but I also had to cut up my headers and relocate some pipes to avoid the tie rod. I guess mustangs and comets don't have the same engine bay? Thats the conclusion I came to anyways.
I also rebuilt the AOD and installed my Edge 3000 rpm lockup converter.
I like it. The transmission works like a champ, shifts nice and firm and the converter can really make it fun leaving stoplights. I put an oil cooler for the trans in front of the rad, and the Hayden temp sender and gauge says it rarely gets over 140 F.
I did a few other things to it too, like replacing a leaky rear axle seal, bolting on my center caps, bleeding the brakes, new idler arm bushing, and little stuff like that.
If it ever dries up around here I'll wash and wax it and get some pictures and post them up here.
