I bought one of those battery terminal disconnect switches the other day and wondered if it makes any difference to which post to wire it to. I know it should probably go on the negative side but wondered if it made any difference.

like dan said it will work on either. i have mine wired on the negative though. i figure that if i have it on the pos side and for what ever reason it comes loose or somehow a grounded peice of metal touches it, its going to short something out or start a fire. if its on the neg side and something grounded touches it, well its a ground wire so who cares

neg. side is ok for disable for no draw or anti-thief.

emergence shut off , switch on positve side. reason is like kennymo said , if any object cuts into negitive , its still grounded
