Is there any other big block car that I can use the coil springs from that will carry a big block in a 1966 fairlane, or do I have to buy after market springs?

Use 390/427 front coils for a '66-'69 Fairlane, check www.espo.com for good prices on springs and hardware.

If I remember correctly, I think the guy I bought the car from said it had a 429 in it at one time. Maybe it's already got the right springs. How can I tell?

The wire may be of thicker steel but I don't know what a 289 spring looks like. I never had one.

sorry!

Thanks Doug. A friend came by last night and said they looked pretty small to him. I have a set on the way from Espo Springs.
