My DOOE 351W heads have already been milled once before..probably 10. If on my current rebuild they take another 10 off to clean up and 10 on the block, I'm at .0030 off.
The DOOE castings should have been 59-61cc from the start. Any idea where I am now in chamber volume??? is it .0030 off or approx 55cc or do we need more off the heads?
I'm not at the tab limit on the heads yet??
Any help appreciated

Then I should be around 55cc on the heads...maybe 9.1 or so compression...

Thanks for the help.

Level the head, fill the chamber with the amount of liquid to produce the volume you desire, use a depth micrometer to guage to the liquid, the distance to the liquid will be the required amount of material to be removed from the head to meet your volume specs.

DOnt forget that if you go past .030 you will need to mill the intake to keep things proper.

Also I read that for each .010 milled will net you approx. 1 cc on a small block head, can anyone confirm that?
