my 67 gal is a non power drum all the way around car.i have the leeed power booster and master cyl.
the instructions are just generic for this setup.
is there a writeup somewhere on hooking it all up under the dash and what mods need to be done to the firewall?
it says for fords that had non power brakes that i need a power brake pedal.is that true?
it has 2 different length levers that go to the pedal but there isnt even a parts list with this setup.
the levers also dont have the nylon bushings i see in some vids for mustangs.
do i use the factory when i take the stock stuff out?

Hello cherokeechief79,

The 1965 - 1968 Ford full size models all have the same brake pedal arrangement and that is the pedal arm itself is for manual drum brakes as power brakes back then were an seldom selected option. If you did order power brakes the same brake pedal is used and Ford reduced the pedal ratio for power by adding a lever assembly on the back of their boosters (well Bendix and Midland Ross boosters are the boosters Ford used). There is no other power brake pedal for these years full size Fords.

I know Leeds parts are more expensive and I would have expected better of them to provide adequate instructions. I have seen aftermarket lever assemblies sold on Fleece-Bay but I dunno, it's aftermarket and well so are your Leeds parts and here you are.

Maybe someone else has had better luck with other options and they can chime in. I will say in having three of these generation Fords two 66's and one 68 I find adding the factory parts to a non power or non disc system much easier as I know it will work as intended when finished, even though it's still expensive R&R ing the old parts after you procure them.

Just my 2 cents.

Good Luck.

Cheers

thanks guys.
the funny thing is that i look on mp brakes website and they dont have detailed instructions either.
they must be the exact same thing because both have the 2 different length arms and i can see they also have the exact same pn# etched on them.
ive only found one youtube vid of someone going to power on a 69 gal but its with ford parts from another year.
he had a nitemare of a time because he found a power brake pedal but it wouldnt fit without a lot of mods.
even after it was done he said it was bent differently and was close to the floor.

Look for an original booster with the mounting bracket and lever assembly. They do appear on ebay. Then send it to Power Brake Booster Exchange (Booster Steve) in Oregon. They will rebuild the unit and it will work like new again.

he said their instructions are a little confusing because it must cover a lot of yrs.

The pushrod link connects to the brake pedal and the lever is mounted in the bracket when mounted to the rear of the booster. Once that assembly is together the bracket which is attached to the booster also mounts the complete assembly to the fire wall
