hey guys I just changed my 71 torino to disc brakes and found that my old 14 inch wheels rub so I need to buy new ones. I am going to buy cragar street lites. My question is what i the biggest rim and tire combo I can run. The back spacing on my old rims is 4 1/4". then I measured from the face of the drum to the inside of the wheel well and got 7 1/2 after subtracting 1/2" for clearence. The other way is 6" after 1/2" for clearence. I was going to buy 15X8 but can I run bigger without rubbing? and what size back tire should I run. I was thinking 275/60/15 in back and 215/60/15 in front. What do you think? Thanks

I have 15x8's on my torino, they have a low backspacing, so they stick out a whole lot. The biggest I can run with these rims are 235/60/15's, and the fronts rub on really sharp corners. With the right backspacing, 275's would fit fine on the back.

all out of a 72 Gran Torino, the tires arn't tall enough, I smoke them with 3.25 gearing in the 9". I want to go taller and wider.

as far as height for you, depends how low your ride is. with the right off set, you can run almost anything you want
