I have a 302... which obv has a c4 tranny... im gonna do a new intake manifold, 4 barrel carb, headers, dual exhaust, msd ignition and maybe cams... will the c4 tranny be able to handle all of this???
I agree...A well maintained , well built or nicely modified C4 can handle just about anything a small block can throw at it.
I've always liked the C6 myself...but then again , I've never owned a car that was optioned for the C4.
I've done a lot of reading on the C4...and the market is wide open in regards to modifications.
I'm toying with the idea of using a C4 in my 1968 Torino GT (351W added) with console shift. The weight savings of the C4 over the C6 would have some benefits.
Do your thing worry free...as long as the C4 is in sound mechanical order to begin with.

yes, the transmission is in fine mechanical order.. whole car only has 20K on it. Just to clarify, will the stock c4 tranny handle this or do I have to beef up the c4?
Miles and age don't really matter. Use and abuse do. When was the fluid changed last and what did it llok like? Put a shift kit in it, better servo, and a trans cooler. Factory trans coolers are useless. Also if you go to a bigger cam get ready to change the convertor.
